Between: A Journey Through the Middle
The “libretto” for Between: A Journey Through the Middle began in Tenerife. Standing and singing on that island, Sarah felt a connection to all her betweens and middle places. The songs and stories continued to appear in improvisations (as well as being revealed in past pieces). She had tapped a river of ideas. In the performances, the Between ensemble selected and presented what their collective intuition told them was needed.
Tracked live during 2 performances in February of 2014, Between: A Journey Through the Middle was born out of Greer’s trip to the Canary Islands. Featuring vocalists Aimee K. Bryant, Bruce A. Henry, Elizabeth “Libby” Turner with Greer, the ensemble is rounded out with drummer Nathan Greer.
“Between” songs and stories splash up from an infinite well — we will take what we can carry.
