The Burning Truth Project

The recent global movement against systemic racism and police brutality, sparked by the horrific murder of George Floyd right here in our city, has inspired many of us to stand up, and say Black Lives Matter. The movement has made apparent the deep divisions in our country, rampant misinformation, greed and hatred that threaten our humanity. The global pandemic has highlighted and deepened inequities and injustices targeting the most vulnerable members of our society.

As artists, we are used to processing our experiences through our creative work. This pandemic has grossly limited our ability to respond and perform as we are used to. As the future of performing remains uncertain, we are grieving and also reeling in response to persistent injustice, the proliferation of hate, and the inability to dream beyond tomorrow.

We have truths burning within us, waiting to be expressed. We invite you to join us as we share what we’ve discussed and discovered together, in “The Burning Truth Project.”

This performance features stories and songs and is presented by Pangea World Theater as part of the “Another World is Possible: Pangea Artists Respond” series. The 90-minute performance will take place in a backyard in Minneapolis before a limited, socially-distant audience. The event address will be included in your confirmation email once you register.

For the safety of our host and the performers, RSVPs are required for all attendees. Additionally, please wear masks, and maintain 6’ distance from all other patrons. Some seating options will be available onsite, but please feel free to bring camp-chairs or blankets.
